Ingredients
4 oz dry spaghetti
1/2 cup marinara sauce
1 cup water or broth
1 clove garlic, minced
1/4 small onion, chopped
1 tsp olive oil
Salt and pepper to taste
1/4 tsp oregano or Italian seasoning
Optional: 2 oz cooked ground beef or lentils
Optional toppings: Parmesan cheese, parsley
Instructions
1. Heat olive oil in a medium pot and sauté onion and garlic for 2–3 minutes.
2. Add marinara sauce and water (or broth). Stir to combine.
3. Break spaghetti in half and add to the pot. Ensure noodles are submerged.
4. Simmer uncovered for 12–15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
5. Add more water if needed to prevent sticking or burning.
6. Season with salt, pepper, and oregano. Stir in optional protein if using.
7. Serve hot with desired toppings like cheese or fresh parsley.
Notes
You can use diced tomatoes or tomato paste plus water if you don’t have marinara.
For a creamier version, stir in 1 tbsp cream cheese or a splash of milk at the end.
To make it vegan, skip cheese and use vegetable broth.
